Review:
The naming of a band can be an important and tenuous decision in the beginning life of a band. These LA guys went balls out when they associated themselves with a king who killed his father, married his mother, and thus brought calamity on friends and family alike. Not sure where i’m going with this other than to say that their music is another slap to the face of convention. Are they metal? Rock? Progressive Rock? Indie?…ummmm…yes? Somehow they’re all of the above, and somehow it works really well. Think My Chemical Romance with quite a bit more masculinity and versatility. This three piece (that’s right, they’re just a 3 piece) exemplifies the blending of songwriting, musicianship, and performance. The best example of that is their new song “Holding Out for More.” Jeremy Haffners vocals toe the line of dramatic, but walk it tightly and effortlessly, never crossing over to the dark side of guy-liner front men. Teve Lee’s riffs are ridiculously tight, and Keith Larsen’s drums threaten to steal the focus of every song yet stay back just enough to let the creative whole shine. Above all, these guys hold nothing back and cater to no one. I think I just developed an Oedipus complex…that’s right…i went there. Be careful, you might too.

A ton of sound for a three piece band. They definitely have my attention.
Really remarkable guitar production…. soaring to new sonic heights.
