Review:

Have you ever wondered where the next band to “sweep you off your feet” would be? For a while there, I didn’t think I would be able to find one, until now.Last year was the “birth” of a new band in the UK; Air Traffic. Obtaining their name from their practice days in the midst of an airport landing strip, this band of 4 Bournemouth bred fellas has something for everyone. Be it Radiohead to Muse, you’ll find that intensity and precision in this band.Chris, Tom, Jim and David have a focused and polished mission. To make every single note they record and perform, always the best. They want to be bigger and better every time you see or hear them and, yes, they dream of selling out Madison Square Garden some day, but who doesn’t? They may be younger than most artists today, but they are also more determined. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them directly and over the past year, watching them continue to grow and develop. In February, America got to have a taste of Air Traffic.Fractured Life is a splendid debut album, and it’s nothing short of powerful. The proof was in the iTunes presale. A band with no U.S. airplay (at the time) and no “image” yet established in the states; there was an iTunes sneak peak and the few weeks before release, there were over 4,000 presales. Be it album, single tracks or actual complete album buys. The band had been touring all over Europe for a year, until the release in the U.S. They took a quick break and headed into the studio to record a new track, only for the state side release. “Come On” is a song of intensity, depth and familiarity yet, not so familiar that you feel you heard it all before. There’s still the element of surprise throughout the entire record. “Shooting Star,” “No More Running Away,” and “Charlotte” are just a few examples of what this band has to offer. After appearances on Jools Holland, NME Awards (nomination), also write ups in Blender, AP Magazine and Paste among many others…this band isn’t stopping anytime soon. In fact, they are just now preparing for V Fest, a U.S. tour and the launch of the next chapter in their lives. This record will do one thing for you… give you the sense of empowerment behind its meanings, its verses and its rhythms. Do your self a favor and listen.

Not a bad band at all. Not the most memorable band in the world but not bad either.

Cool band. “Just Abuse Me” has good flow and builds into a tight little rocker.
