Crafting music that is whimsical and economical, but never too pretentious, Oliver Jane carry a maturity belying the youthful age of the band, filling empty spaces with jazz chords, Eastern European melodies, and flourishes of strings. Male and female vocals sit perfectly in place next to the double bass, as tiny bits of sunshine to filter through the stereo speakers. And if you close your eyes and allow your mind to wander songs like “Original” or “Passeport”, you can almost see yourself sitting right next to Oliver and Jane in some gypsy camp somewhere in the French countryside.
