Jamie Lynn Noon may be a young singer/songwriter recently releasing her first EP A Moment to Break, but don’t let that, for an instant, fool you.  Noon not only brings talent and experience, but couple that with a passion for respectable songwriting and a solid team, you have to take a listen.  Right from the start, each song grasps at your heart with undeniable riffs.  Pulling in to listen just a bit more.  A voice that is haunting and not at all young, you can hear her sing with a sheer honesty and vulnerability.  One can instantly hear influences of Chantal Kreviazuk and Linda Ronstadt.  Combine that with clean guitar and piano lines and it looks like she could be on her way to a great start.

In A Moment to Break, Noon, along with co-producer Kevin Harris, endeavor to enchant you with phrases such as “though memories fade, you never disappear” and “I want to run to the edge, throw caution to the wind, part of life is risking it all.”  With a well-produced mixture of instruments that seek to give each song it’s color and shape, Noon makes it pleasant to listen to.  Maybe to pleasant or polite.  While each song starts off strong, they don’t quite reach the essence to where I’m thoroughly convinced.  At least yet.  I’m rather certain it’s there and am excited to see what more she will bring to the table.
