Review:

I’ve vowed to never use the word ‘genius’ in description of anyone vetted on this site. That being said, i was tempted to go back on my own avowal when searching for how to best describe Chris Karn of Deccatree. It’s rare that you find an artist/producer (or vice versa) that knows how to utilize the role of both exquisitely, and at the same time. Karn (lead singer, guitarist, writer) has done just that with all of Deccatree’s tracks. As an artist and producer he is never self aggrandizing in his roles. Each one is utilized to perfection in enhancing the other. The result is akin to aural shiatsu- every emotion is touched upon, every sense awakened, and you leave feeling healthier than when you started. Karn’s vocals soar when they need to soar and whisper when intimacy is called for, always fitting perfectly into the overall mosaic of the song. For starters check out ‘Tears,’ the single-worthy ‘Belong,’ and the ethereal ‘Soul.’ Believe me, you’ll leave feeling better.
