I landed in this business when I was 19...on accident!
I began interning at KMBY, the Alternative Rock station in Monterey Ca. After 6 months, I landed the new music specialty show. It began as an hour on Saturday night and I extended it to two hours. Shortly after that, I took over the Mid day slot. 10-3 pm weekdays, then 8-10 for new music on Saturday night. In that time period I got close to a few bands; Paper Rival, Sparta, Louis XIV, Chevelle, The Matches and 30 Seconds to Mars. At the release of the second 30STM album (A Beautiful Lie) I was the only person in the state of California playing the record, hence who better than to pick the second single than me? The Kill seemed to work out well for them. After three years at KMBY, and doing as much as I could at one station, I fled for the Eastern Coast. I was appointed the Assistant Programming Director and Music Director of another Alternative station, WHRL in Albany NY. I also did middays there, helping as many bands as possible; Dropping Daylight, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Sick Puppies, The Almost, Flyleaf, Action Reaction etc.. After eight months there, it was again, time to open another door.

I landed a great gig with Astralwerks and Caroline Records. I'm not only helping bands like I've always wanted, but I'm really a part of their lives now. I work with many great artists (Air Traffic, VHS Or Beta, Pride Tiger, Hot Chip, B-52s, The Kooks, The Chemical Brothers, Digitalism, Yelle, Bat For Lashes, Jamie T, The Little Ones, Cinder Road, Athlete, Small Sins..) I'm also an avid concer go-er and attend as many as possible. NYC has a great music scene, one that varies and goes through dry spells, but when it's on fire...it's really on fire!
