Position Music was started by Tyler Bacon in 1999. The company specializes in music publishing, Film/TV/Media licensing and artist management. In addition to its own catalog, Position Music represents labels such as EMI, Tooth & Nail Records, Surfdog Records and Malaco Records. Management clients include Universal Republic artist Tyrone Wells and indie cult act Celldweller.

Having built relationships within the Film/TV community for over 8 years Position Music has had thousands of placements in films, TV, video games, trailers, commercials and soundtracks. They have also generated several million dollars of licensing fees for its clients. Placements include “Spider-man 3,” “Harry Potter,” “Austin Powers,” “Volvo,” “Law & Order,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” the “Enter the Matrix” video game and more.

Prior to starting Position Music, Tyler Bacon did A&R for Pioneer Music Group, a division of Pioneer Electronics (dist. by Atlantic Records). Prior to Pioneer he was the head of A&R for indie label REX Music (RED Distribution). While at REX he signed Fleming & John and Sixpence None the Richer, who went on to have The Hollywood Reporter's #1 Film Song of the Year with the hit single “Kiss Me.”

Tyler graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Recording Industry Management.
